Name in SIR should count as Life Certificate for next one year

I was wondering how many times do I have to prove that I am alive? In the just concluded SIR process I had to prove that I am alive in order that I am allowed to vote. Now, I have another battle in front of me. I have to prove again that I am alive for a Life Certificate for the purposes of pension. Shouldn't the SIR done also be valid for 'life certificate' for at least the next one year? Equally, shouldn't a vote cast in any State/General elections extend validity of a person's Life Certificate at least for the next twelve months?

Our lives are now revolving around updating passwords, renewing card(s) validity, renewing our licences, know your customer (kyc) for gas connection, for bank accounts ... Shouldn't death certificates at least be linked to Life Certificates to ease the process a bit? Shouldn't appearance of an individual's name  in just concluded SIR process, or just concluded elections, count towards giving a new 'lease' of life?
