Sometimes I weigh the oceans,
Sometimes I behold the sky.
Sometimes I wonder,
With a sigh and cry:
If let out, off my heart,
Will love colour my sky?
My love, gush out of there,
Drown the oceans, far and nigh!
Sometimes I weigh the oceans,
Sometimes I behold the sky.
Sometimes I wonder,
With a sigh and cry:
If let out, off my heart,
Will love colour my sky?
My love, gush out of there,
Drown the oceans, far and nigh!
Why do you go up the stream,
And sneak into another dream?
Upstream is a bit hard,
Roughs, shingles, and shards.
Aren't you happy in your dream?
Aren't you happy downstream?
विद्यां ददाति विनयं,
विनयाद् याति पात्रताम् ।
पात्रत्वात् धनमाप्नोति,
धनात् धर्मं ततः सुखम् ॥
Knowledge brings humility;
from humility comes worthiness;
with worthiness one attains wealth;
with wealth one is able to perform one's duties
in a better way;
and in performing one's duties
one attains happiness.
In the end - as in the beginning - the fount of all happiness is Vidya.
*vidya: knowledge

Let the historians keep
The hindsight,
May You keep
The foresight.
