विद्यां ददाति विनयं

 

विद्यां ददाति विनयं,

विनयाद् याति पात्रताम् ।

पात्रत्वात् धनमाप्नोति,

धनात् धर्मं ततः सुखम् ॥

Knowledge brings humility;

from humility comes worthiness;

with worthiness one attains wealth;

with wealth one is able to perform one's duties

in a better way;

and in performing one's duties

one attains happiness.

In the end - as in the beginning - the fount of all happiness is Vidya.
