I think lemongrass repels termites as opposed to attracting termites. But the effect is the same. It chases away termites and pests. Lot of folks plant it in a way that it is fully grown during the election campaigning season, and for the same reason: to keep the termites and pests away.

Lemongrass keeping away termites aka politicians is a good analogy. However, most don't plant lemon grass and allow the termites to take root, by voting not for performance but caste and creed.
