With elections in India and the Russo-Ukraine ongoing war, I thought it would be timely be reproduce a few lines I wrote on 28 December 81:
I looked down from a spaceship
At the partition of day and night,
And it occurred to me that
Countries should be divided thus:
Day country and Night country.
People shall forever move
With the sun,
Or the moon,
And it would be so much fun
To count
Which country's defections are more.
