What is an icon? Is it like the National Geographic which is said to be iconic? Or, is it like the Wellington Gymkhana Club? The former is closing down, the latter was coerced into closing, albeit for a few days.
Per Webster, icon is: 'a person or thing widely admired especially for having great influence or significance in a particular sphere'.
How can admiration close down?
Some say the word icon is the amalgamation of the subject and predicate of a very short sentence: 'I' + 'con'.
What do you say?
