Let's all be children

For a day;

Let's smear ourselves with mud,

Or, with clay;

Let's build a make-believe rifle,

With our stick;

Let's throw the clock to find

Why the deuce it ticks;

Let's build castles

On the beach,

Stone down mangoes,

Beyond our reach;

Push fingers in electric sockets,

Without flinching fear,

Let's blow soap bubbles

Into the air.

Let's all be children

For a day.
